Last night, Sting and Trudie Styler hosted The Revlon Concert for The Rainforest Fund at Carnegie Hall in New York City. They were joined by Sir Elton John, James Taylor, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Hudson, Bruno Mars, Vince Gill, and many more. Check out Sting and Trudie's interview with Katie Couric for Good Morning America here:
When she and Sting first visited South America's Amazon rainforest in 1988, Trudie Styler remembers flying into thick smoke from a fire raging below. "It was like seeing paradise and hell at the same time," she told a packed Carnegie Hall at last night's Revlon Concert for the Rainforest Fund. The evening's two-hour "Songs from the Silver Screen" event featured performances from Sir Elton John, James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Bruno Mars and more. Styler, who co-founded the Rainforest Fund to protect land and human rights for the indigenous there, singled out Chevron as the worst violator in Ecuador, where a court fined the oil giant $18 billion in February...
Elton John, Bruno Mars, Meryl Streep and others have a ball singing songs you wouldn't expect as Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum torridly tango. Imagine The Wizard of Oz starring Meryl Streep as Dorothy, James Taylor as the Scarecrow, Sting as the Tin Man and Elton John as the Cowardly Lion. Well, thanks to the Rainforest Fund benefit concert, you don't have to anymore. The show's surreal opening number featured that (noncostumed) all-star cast warbling 'If I Only Had a Brain', and it was only the beginning. These annual Carnegie Hall shows organized by Sting and his wife Trudie Styler always are a highlight of the musical year. They usually follow the concept of stars singing songs they've never done before and likely will never do again, thereby providing strong incentive for attendees to part with serious cash for the ultra-pricey tickets...
What a night for the 20 plus year Rainforest Foundation: Trudie Styler produced her biennial all-star fundraiser at Carnegie Hall, probably the best ever with Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Roseanne Cash, Esperanza Spaulding, Vince Gill, Bruno Mars, opera great Bryn Terfel, Rita Wilson, Meryl Streep, and Channing Tatum with his gorgeous dancer wife Jenna, and special guest Bill Clinton. They raised millions more for the preservation of the Rainforest and its indigenous people. So many highlights but probably no one will ever forget Elton John singing 'Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend' while Channing Tatum, wearing a vest and no shirt underneath, plus a black bowler, danced around him as if he were in the show, 'Chicago'. It was hilarious. Jennifer Hudson, of course, blew the doors off the building singing 'And I’m Telling You' from 'Dreamgirls'...
Jennifer Hudson and Bruno Mars have been added to the incredible lineup for the upcoming Revlon Concert for the Rainforest Fund! They join an all-star list of performers including Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Meryl Streep, Vince Gill, Rosanne Cash, and Bryn Terfel at the concert on April 3, 2012, which will be held at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, followed by a gala dinner.

The track is available as a free download for fans that purchase the album (www.thehungergamesmovie.com/lullaby) and can also be purchased as a single. "Lullaby" is a centerpiece of The Hunger Games, and Sting delivers a powerful and poetic rendition of the song, which was produced by T-Bone Burnett. The pair last collaborated on 2003's "You Will Be My Ain' True Love" for the film, Cold Mountain. The song was subsequently nominated for an Academy Award, a Grammy Award and a Golden Globe...
Saturday marked the first South African date of the Sting: Back To Bass worldwide tour. The concert to celebrate 25 years of Gordon Sumner’s solo career was held at Joburg’s Coca-Cola Dome and, surprisingly for a big international act, two dates were booked at the same venue - the 16-time Grammy Award-winning Sting performing again yesterday. Also unusual was the lack of opening acts. The bassist/vocalist made famous by multiplatinum '80s new wave band The Police played an impressively long set (about 19 songs) without a break. With a few exceptions, the tunes were all classics, stripped down to their barest original bones...
The chart-topping companion album to the film THE HUNGER GAMES, "THE HUNGER GAMES": SONGS FROM DISTRICT 12 AND BEYOND, will unlock a free download of 'Deep in the Meadow (Lullaby)' performed by Sting beginning March 27, 2012. The track can also be purchased as a single from major digital retailers. 'Lullaby' remains a centerpiece of THE HUNGER GAMES.

Sting is currently on the Back to Bass tour throughout Europe, the UK and South Africa in support of the recently released box set collection, 25 Years, which garnered a rave review from Keyboard Magazine in the April 2012 issue: "What I've learned over the years is that miracles don't happen and what works is the process," Sting writes in the liner notes for '25 Years', his three-CD-plus-DVD solo career retrospective. The process he speaks of shines in full, recorded glory here, with 55 tracks evincing his continued quest for aural eloquence. From his early, jazz-tinged exploits on 'The Dream of the Blue Turtles', to later explorations into dance, country, and classical fare, this collection is powerful proof of Sting's singular sonic imprint. Timeless...
