Gerry Richardson Live Stream gig from Newcastle 4 October...

September 16, 2020

Legendary band leader, singer and organist Gerry Richardson is bringing his quintet to The Globe for an exclusive gig. This is an online event. The gig will be streamed live and you can watch it again at any time in the following week.

So that the musicians can get paid, we ask you to make a small ‘entrance donation’, which we recommend should be £5 per person. If you are able to give a bit more this will be really welcome at this time when gig income for musicians has been drastically reduced.

We hope we will be able to allow a small invited audience in The Globe. Numbers will be strictly limited and only people who have donated for the livestream may be invited. The venue will be closed to the general public so please do not try to attend in person unless you are on the official guest list.

Gerry Richardson explores the Hammond organ genre to the max! Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Funk, Swing and Samba are all part of the mix.

Add to that some kicking original tunes, many written as tributes to the legendary jazz and soul musicians who have inspired Gerry throughout his career and you get an unbeatable format for a great gig.

The band was formed in 1995 so this is a 25th anniversary gig (and a significant birthday for Gerry). The quintet are:

Gerry Richardson – organ and vocals
Garry Linsley – alto saxophone
Rod Sinclair – guitar
Paul Smith – drums
Graeme Hare – congas

The members of the band have a collective CV that includes work with Guy Barker, Mark Knopfler, John Miles, Billy Ocean, Alan Price, Annie Ross, Larry Carlton, Carol Grimes, Ian Shaw, Billy Joel, Sting, etc.

TO VIEW THE LIVESTREAM GIG PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Make a donation via the following link - https://bit.ly/3hrjIjZ. Donate what you can afford, £5 per person is the suggested minimum. Please do so as early as possible, as a rush of requests just before the gig may result in some people missing the start.

2. When we have received notification of your donation we will send you an email with instructions on how to view the livestream. Please note that this is not an automated process. Our volunteers may not respond immediately. Also remember that our message will go to the email account associated with your payment which may not use be the one you usually use.

3. We recommend that you access and save the link as soon as you receive our instructions. The link will become live about 15 minutes before the start of the gig. This will give you time to check your set up, get comfortable and chat with other members of the online audience.
